Course 1

You start your path to Hebrew knowledge by learning the granddaddy of all Hebrew verbs. You begin writing in Hebrew.

Course 3

In Course 3 we learn in 10 lessons the present and past tenses of 4 major verb patterns לדבר, לנסות, להלביש, and להתלבש.

Expand

In addition we introduce a new pattern of "total exceptions," verbs like לשבת. This course is intended for those who have completed Courses 1 and 2. At the completion of this course you will be able to write in Hebrew, or to comprehend sentences written in Hebrew like:

She cleaned the room two hours ago.

We got dressed in our room.

How did he explain the problem?

Can you accurately translate the above sentences?

If not, please consider buying or re-doing Course 2 or 1 or both. Your Hebrew is as weak as the weakest link in its chain!

If you must use the “academic” approach for classifying your Hebrew knowledge (what I call “grammar talk”) then here is a list in Hebrew of what you learn:

פיעל שלמים בינוני ועבר וכן: פיעל ל"ה, הפעיל שלמים, פעל פ"י. פעלים חריגים כמו לתת, לקחת, ולגשת, בינוני ועבר.

(In a rough approximation this cumulatively represents 95% of the material learned in רמה א' at Hebrew University. Taking into consideration that our immediate goal is not spoken Hebrew in contrast to the central goal of the University’s program.)

Course 4

Course 6

This course offers to the student three of the major sub-patterns of the להלביש pattern.

Expand

These patterns are “advanced,” and give the student critical skills for reading and understanding a text and using the Hebrew language on a much more mature level.
You will see this as you learn the definitions of the words that are included.

We then do a partial class on the numbers. I say partial, because there are many minor details about numbers that aren’t critical at this point in your growth.
After that we do a new sub-pattern of להתלבש, and the two verbs להביא , and להוציא, which are both exceptional by virtue of their third root letter א. Both are central for a more advanced level student.
